Mechanical Assistant Project Manager

Chicago, IL | Full Time, Permanent | $65,000 to $90,000

gpac partners with well established commercial mechanical contractors in the Chicago market performing HVAC, plumbing and piping work on commercial and industrial projects.

About the Role

The Assistant Project Manager supports commercial mechanical projects through estimating, preconstruction, execution and closeout, working alongside a Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, change orders and transmittals

• Help build and maintain project schedules and track procurement

• Track project costs for labor, materials and subcontractors

• Support billing and project documentation

• Coordinate with field leadership, subcontractors and customers

Required

• 2+ years in commercial construction as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager or similar

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel

• Strong organization and communication skills

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field

• Experience with a mechanical contractor

• Procore or similar project software

Compensation and Benefits

• $65,000 to $90,000, based on experience
