Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team in Goldsboro, NC. This is an onsite role for someone who enjoys turning customer requirements into practical, buildable designs for aviation and aerospace equipment. You will work closely with a small group of engineers, take real ownership of your projects, and help shape new products as the team continues to grow. The pace is steady and sprint-based, so a sense of urgency and genuine curiosity will serve you well.
Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- Review customer and regulatory requirements and track design compliance throughout a project
- Develop mechanical and electro-mechanical designs, including 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Complete design validation and verification, including analysis, testing, and reports
- Apply design for cost, manufacturing, and assembly principles
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues hands-on and keep drawing lists, technical reports, and change requests current
Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related engineering field
- 2 to 5+ years of mechanical design experience
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Working knowledge of GD&T in a design setting
- Experience designing dynamic mechanical or electro-mechanical components, ideally in aviation or aerospace
- Inquisitive mindset, strong ownership, and a sense of urgency
