Mechanical Design Engineer – Onsite SJC (6219)San Jose, CAMechanical Design Engineer (2 positions)We are looking for a highly motivated mechanical design engineer who can work independently or under the supervision of a technical leader or manager to carry out design for networking products from concept to production. Only direct W2 candidates are considered, as sponsorship is not offered.ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver next generation networking systems (modular and fixed chassis) and cards that meet customer requirements.Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions using sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast that meet EMI, safety and compliance requirements.Develop 3D CAD models using Creo or NX.Create detailed drawings applying Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning (GD&T) principles.Perform detailed 2D tolerance analysis for complex electro‑mechanical assemblies.Assist with resolution of design‑related issues impacting field or manufacturing by working closely with manufacturing teams and suppliers, developing mitigation plans, and keeping management informed.Exchange PCB design IDF files with the ECAD/hardware design team, and address placement & mechanical integrity concerns.Host peer and cross‑functional team reviews of your design.Required Skills & ExperienceBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; 7+ years of experience designing electronic enclosures.Experience with 3D MCAD tools (Creo/NX).Experience in sheet metal design for mid to high volumes.Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis.Strong knowledge of sheet metal, plastic, and die‑cast tooling.Preferred SkillsExperience designing computer/network equipment for data center operation.Experience designing sheet‑metal parts using soft and hard tooling guidelines.Design and manufacturing of fixtures for experiments and prototypes.EducationBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.Additional InformationJob Title: Mechanical Design EngineerDuration: 8/3/2026 to 8/2/2027, contingent on performance and client budget.Location: 100% Onsite at San Jose office.Pay: $45/hr + full benefits.Equal Employment OpportunityAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or protected veteran status.#J-18808-Ljbffr
