Mechanical Design Manager

Oxford Solutions is working with a client seeking a Mechanical Design Manager for a direct hire, onsite position. This role will lead mechanical design projects supporting specialized broadcast and mobile production equipment while providing direction to a small design team.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects from concept through production
• Design equipment layouts, consoles, racks, and related interior components using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
• Manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to mechanical designers
• Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, and customers to resolve design and production issues
• Support designs involving fabricated metal, composite, wood, and 3D-printed components
• Incorporate airflow, acoustical, electrical, and equipment requirements into mechanical designs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related field preferred; associate degree may be considered with strong relevant experience
• 7+ years of mechanical design experience, including project or team leadership responsibilities
• Experience designing equipment or systems for broadcast, television production, mobile production, or a closely related technical environment
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
• Experience with Autodesk Vault or similar design/document management software
• Familiarity with broadcast equipment racks and technical equipment integration
• Working knowledge of HVAC airflow and acoustical design considerations
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and provide direction to a technical design team
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and vendor coordination skills

Additional experience with CFD tools, electrical design standards, or vehicle/mobile equipment design is a plus.
