NOTE: This position may be available for remote work within the contiguous United States if beyond a 30 mile radius of a physical NuScale office, with travel as required for business needs.
POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Manager, NSSS Systems Analysis, the person in this role applies technical knowledge, insight, reasoning, and decision making to perform analyses of the fluid systems within the NuScale Power Plant nuclear steam supply system (NSSS) to support advancement of the design. They will utilize a strong analytical background in performing transient analyses in collaboration with the rest of the team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
Education: A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) is required. A registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of full time engineering experience as a thermal-hydraulic engineer is required. Additional experience in the following areas is desired:
Analysis of system performance and transient operations, including water hammer, high energy line break, steam generator heat transfer, compartment heating/pressurization
Use of software: RELAP, ANSYS (Mechanical and CFD), GOTHIC, plus normal office software
Analysis of components for flow induced vibration mechanisms, as well as experience with vibration testing and data analysis
Computer programming skills (e.g. Python, Matlab)
Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Pay and Benefits:
The target pay range for this position is $87,107 - $105,129 annually. The full pay range is $78,096 - $122,149 annually.
