The Role  

Be Part of a fast paced, leading edge Automation Equipment Design and Manufacturing company. In this position will be responsible for timely and quality completion of equipment design per the customer specifications.  You will refine design concepts into practical, manufacturable designs that meet performance, durability, and cost targets. Experienced engineers will mentor you to learn automation and help you grow to be a Lead Mechanical Engineer. This position reports to Mechanical Engineering Manager. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Work hours are flexible around your schedule. 

• Interfacing with other disciplines on project team. 

• Design equipment to customer specifications and sold budget. 

• Supporting the Lead Mechanical Engineer on the project.  

Qualifications and Experience  

Essential  

• Work effectively in cross function teams. 

• Organizational/prioritization and creative problem solving skills.  

• Working knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software, further training will be provided. 

• Proficient in MS office. 

• Strong math aptitude and ability to perform sizing and strength calculations. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

• Understanding of mechanical systems and hands on approach. 

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Journeyman tool maker.  

• 3+ years experience in mechanical system design.  

• Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; travel to customer/vendor facilities will be very limited. 

Physical Demands 

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear. 

• Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds.
