Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to provide senior-level mechanical engineering and design expertise for handling and process equipment used in a manufacturing environment.
This is a hands-on engineering role that extends beyond mechanical design. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of equipment through the design, build, installation, startup, troubleshooting, and debugging phases of a project.
The Mechanical Engineer III will work closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure equipment is designed, built, installed, and commissioned safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed mechanical designs for handling and process equipment.
Work closely with project teams to understand requirements, constraints, and project objectives.
Independently determine and develop effective engineering solutions.
Support all phases of equipment development, including design, fabrication, installation, startup, and debug.
Provide hands-on mechanical support during equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup.
Verify equipment builds and layouts against engineering drawings and specifications.
Coordinate equipment installation plans with safety personnel and plant stakeholders.
Manage and coordinate mechanical and electrical trades involved in equipment installation and debugging.
Work directly with vendors and internal engineering teams to resolve equipment build, installation, and design discrepancies.
Provide technical guidance and hands-on troubleshooting throughout equipment commissioning.
Apply mechanical engineering principles related to mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, structural analysis, and machine design.
