As a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op,you will gain hands-on experience that is applied to actual Hunter products. Our goal is to provide an experience that will be an important, effective first step in the career of a future project engineer.

This position is for a Spring 2027 Co-Op, with a start date of January 2027 and an end date of May 2027.

What You’ll Do:

Product Testing

  • Execute a test plan under the direction of a project engineer, format the results in a useable and effective manner, analyze the results against stated objectives and report the findings.

Lab/Shop

  • Assist in building prototypes by operating various machine shop tools and performing basic fabrication techniques.
  • Design and fabricate test fixtures.

Equipment Evaluation

  • Assemble/tear down equipment (competitor’s and Hunter’s) for hands-on experience and for assisting the project engineer in competitor analysis and/or equipment operation.

Liaison Engineering

  • Discuss the concept and principles of manufacturability/productivity with the project engineer and the manufacturing engineer.
  • Review and perform fabrication and assembly when necessary.
  • Discuss the liaison role and requirements of getting a design out of engineering into manufacturing.

Quality Assurance

  • Discuss the concept and principles of designing quality into a product.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA (must be on resume)
  • Major study in:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Aerospace Engineering
    • Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering
    • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Hands-on experience using tools preferred
