Job Description:

Investigate solutions to product or process problems. Consolidates results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects. Performs product development activities including drawing board layout and interpretation/implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management.
- Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight.
- Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures.
- Make moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes.
- Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.
Essential Functions:
- Provide creative and innovative design solutions that meet product requirements for high performance, high pressure pneumatic mechanisms/systems.
- Work closely with a broad team from engineering and operations to collaborate on effective solutions to design challenges.
- Support conceptual and detail design processes by using your background in CAD design
- Provide support to structural and thermal analysis tasks including first order hand calculations and FEA.
- Present data in design review settings (e.g., PDR, CDR), both internal and external
- Provide strong contributions to the overall product design dialogue from inception through production.
- Provide hands-on support during development, prototyping, integration, and test activities.
- This role requires your presence on-site in Amityville, New York
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Degree to be in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Proficient CAD design skills, including part, and assembly-level modeling in a mechanical design software, preferably Creo.
- Proficient CAD drafting skills with the ability to interpret and create 2D drawings
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
- Working knowledge of structural analysis methods using hand calculations
