Mechanical Equipment Design Engineer – Uranium Process Systems

Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Mechanical Equipment Design Engineer for an advanced nuclear fuel developer which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in process equipment design looking to further their career in uranium processing.

•      Design and specify process equipment: reactors, vessels, furnaces, kilns, gas and vacuum systems

•      Translate temperature, pressure, flow, and containment requirements into designs

•      Support fabrication, assembly, commissioning, and troubleshooting

•      Prepare specifications, evaluate vendor proposals, and support acceptance testing

•      Address corrosion, thermal, sealing, and maintainability challenges

Essential Qualifications

•      Experience designing process equipment for chemical, nuclear, ceramic, high-temperature, or vacuum systems

•      Hands-on building, commissioning, and troubleshooting of lab or pilot equipment; vendor experience

•      Bachelor's or master's in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Bonus Qualifications

•      Nuclear fuel-cycle or radiological process equipment experience

•      Fluorine or UF6 service, gloveboxes, confinement, or vacuum equipment

•      Rotary equipment, kilns, or modular skid-mounted pilot plants
