1 Mechanical Estimator Job Summary : As a Mechanical Estimator, you will p roduce accurate and complete material and labor estimates for mechanical and plumbing systems . This position is also responsible for p roduc ing conceptual estimate s based on limited information, historical data, experience and basic known engineering concepts . Responsibil ities: • Reviews plans, specifications, and all related documents to determine material and labor requirements. • Visits project sites to review existing conditions and evaluate how it affects the scope of work. • Reviews all issued bid documentation, including architectural, structural, civil, food service, and front -end documents to verify impact on the mechanical and plumbing scopes of work. • Prepares and issues invitation to bids to subcontractors and suppliers. • Monitors for project updates and changes and incorporates as required. • Evaluates pricing from suppliers and proposals from subcontractors, verifies scopes of work and technical compliance, and make best value selections. • Prepares RFP responses and proposal letters to provide detailed scope of work, clarifications, and exclus ions. • Activity works with customers concerning project specifications, project scop es, value engineering suggestions , schedules, or any other item that could affect pricing and constructability . • Maintains estimating project files as required by department procedures and policies. • Maintains technical knowledge of piping, plumbing and sheet metal estimating, installation practices , and advances in technology . • Assists with project turnover to project management and field. • Attends and conducts interviews and job meetings according to customer and company needs to discuss projects. Quali fications/Requirement s: • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred • 2-5 years of relevant experience preferred. Candidates with varying levels of experience are encouraged to apply. • Knowledge of mechanical, piping, and plumbing systems. • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with construction software (e.g.,Bluebeam , Procore, Bidtracer, or similar) is preferred.
