Mechanical Fabricator / Assembler

Location: Edgewood, MD
Pay: $19.00–$27.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Day Shift | 4-Day Work Week

Cornerstone Recruiting is seeking a mechanically inclined Fabrication / Assembly & Repair Mechanic for an established industrial equipment manufacturer in Harford County.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys building, troubleshooting, repairing, and working with mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will join a production team responsible for assembling and servicing custom industrial machinery used by customers throughout the U.S. and internationally.

Candidates with experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, welding, equipment repair, electrical work, or plumbing are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble mechanical equipment and components according to established specifications and build plans
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and related technical documentation
• Install and connect mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components
• Perform equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and general service work
• Assist with welding and fabrication as required
• Identify mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair solutions
• Maintain an organized and safe work area
• Manage multiple assignments while meeting production schedules and deadlines
• Work collaboratively with production and technical team members
• Assist with equipment installation and field service when needed

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial equipment, machinery, fabrication, or a related environment.

Candidates should also possess:

• Experience with mechanical fabrication and/or equipment assembly
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and schematics
• Familiarity with PLC ladder logic
• Welding experience or knowledge
• Basic electrical and plumbing experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
• A demonstrated commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, and speaking
• Ability to commute reliably to the Joppa, MD area
• Willingness to travel occasionally for equipment installation or service
• Flexibility to work occasional Fridays or weekends when business needs require

Compensation & Schedule

Pay: $19.00–$27.00 per hour, depending on experience

This position offers a 4-day work week, consisting of four 10-hour day shifts. Occasional Friday overtime may be available or required based on workload.
