Mechanical HVAC Engineer

Title: Mechanical/HVAC Engineer – Pharmaceutical Facilities
Salary: $140-$160k + benefits 
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Schedule: Hybrid / 4 days a week in office

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with an active Professional Engineer (PE) license and expertise in HVAC design for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences facilities. This role focuses on mechanical system design for cleanrooms, laboratories, and regulated manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, cleanrooms, laboratories, and process suites.

• Develop HVAC calculations, airflow and pressurization strategies, ductwork layouts, equipment specifications, and controls requirements.

• Ensure compliance with applicable cGMP, FDA, ISO, ASHRAE, and USP standards.

• Support facility expansions, renovations, commissioning, and qualification activities.

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering, quality, validation, and construction teams.

• Troubleshoot environmental control issues and support system reliability improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences facilities.

• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical HVAC systems, cleanroom design, aseptic manufacturing, environmental controls, and building automation.

• Experience with commissioning and qualification activities.

• AutoCAD/Revit proficiency preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with sterile injectable or biologics manufacturing.

• Knowledge of containment systems and hazardous drug handling.

• LEED accreditation, energy management, or contamination control strategy experience.
