We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector for our client. This position is responsible for inspecting and performing configuration verification of MIDS-JTRS and MIDS programs to ensure conformity with the most current revisions, specifications, and quality standards.
Inspect and perform configuration verification of MIDS-JTRS and MIDS programs to ensure compliance with the most recent revisions.
Inspect electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, circuit cards, components, and parts for conformance to specifications.
Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, method sheets, schematics, process instructions, engineering change orders (ECOs), and other assembly documentation.
Examine the layout and installation of wiring, cables, subassemblies, hardware, and components to identify assembly errors or discrepancies.
Perform conformal coating inspections using black-light scopes.
Perform mechanical inspections using mechanical hand tools and measurement equipment as required.
Inspect components, subassemblies, and assemblies against applicable quality standards, including IPC and J-STD standards, verifying items such as component orientation, masking, soldering, conformal coating, and overall workmanship.
Identify, document, and enter defects into appropriate quality systems for tracking and future review.
Inspect subassemblies and assemblies following rework, modifications, or repairs to verify that identified defects have been properly corrected.
Interface with Engineering to resolve technical issues, including clarification of engineering change orders and other technical documentation.
Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Ability to read, understand, and follow process instructions, engineering drawings, and other technical documentation used to inspect components, assemblies, and subassemblies.
Ability to effectively use inspection and measurement tools, including calipers, microscopes, gauges, and related equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Proven ability to employ a customer-focused approach while achieving quality and production objectives.
Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within dynamic, cross-functional teams.
Soldering or solder inspection experience strongly preferred.
Technical school or vocational training in electronics manufacturing preferred.
IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification preferred.
Experience with mechanical hand tools and precision measurement equipment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
3 years of experience performing quality inspection of complex circuit card assemblies is required.
Experience working in an electronics manufacturing or quality inspection environment preferred.
