PURPOSE:

Effectively perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance activities; to ensure efficient production processes with minimal downtime

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mechanical Maintenance Duties

  • Perform mechanical servicing and efficient maintenance on production machinery, equipment, plant, and utilities; in order to help meet or exceed production, waste, downtime, and quality goals
  • Ensure optimal machine settings are implemented to achieve efficient operations
  • Maintain the reliability of the equipment to help meet and exceed the facility's goals for quality and production by inspecting, troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical problems on all manufacturing equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures
  • Responsible for workplace safety
  • Responsible for order and cleanliness of Workshop area
  • Perform mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and information technology systems assembly process by functional unit, e.g. individual or interlinked machines, atomized production equipment or production lines
  • Process and splice metals, e.g. manual and automatic cutting, separating and recasting, riveting, screwing, gluing, soldering, welding (simple welding without special welding, inspections)
  • Install propulsion systems, sensors, actuators, and converters
  • Install switch and control units, linings, and safety devices
  • Compare system parameters to target values
  • Install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and operations equipment for improved reliability and production time
  • Apply measurement, testing, and diagnostic procedures and identify malfunctions
  • Identify causes of malfunctions, localize and repair malfunctions in consideration of interfaces between mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components
  • Install spare parts and replace worn parts
  • Retool and expand machines and production lines; replace technically outdated components

Process Control

  • Perform daily inspection walk-throughs
  • Manually inspect finished good rolls, to ensure proper dimensions, winding, etc.
  • Assist with the handling of complaints regarding finished goods; especially when a maintenance component could be of concern
  • Manually inspect the packaging of finished goods
  • Issue defect reports and lock messages
  • Analyze maintenance aspects of test runs that use new raw materials
  • Aim to minimize downtime to increase total output capacity

Quality

  • Ensure that the QMS conforms to ISO 9001:2015
  • Ensure processes are delivering intended outcomes
  • Report to Top Management on the performance of the QMS; on opportunities for improvement; on change requirements; on innovations
  • Ensure the promotion of customer focus
  • Ensure the integrity of the QMS is maintained
