Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer (P2 Engineer II)

Onsite - 1st Shift, 5/40
Pay Rate: $47.80/hr.
Position Summary: Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer (P2 Engineer II)
- Support production of sophisticated assemblies for space and sea applications, including heat exchangers, pumps, fans, and pressurized accumulators.
- Drive innovation, manufacturability, and advanced engineering solutions for life support and thermal control systems.
- Develop and implement mechanical manufacturing methods for hardware production.
- Create manufacturing assembly documentation and conceptual tooling designs.
- Provide technical support to internal teams and suppliers.
- Lead failure investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and management of non-conforming hardware.
- Develop manufacturing operation sequences and define equipment requirements.
- Optimize assembly, disassembly, and repair processes.
- Ensure compliance with EH&S requirements and quality standards.
- Identify and implement product quality, productivity, and process improvements.
- Prepare cost estimates, manage schedules, and create procedures and work instructions.
- Review design drawings and concepts for producibility concerns.
- Work within Integrated Product Development (IPD) and cross-functional teams.
- Present technical updates to leadership.
- Support CORE, Process Certification, Lean Manufacturing, and Manufacturing Process Reviews.
- Lead EH&S compliance and sustainability initiatives.
- Bachelors degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Familiarity with Creo CAD modeling/design software.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience with machining, welding, and brazing processes.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, including:
- Shainin Red X
- DMAIC
- Taguchi Design of Experiment
- Ishikawa diagrams
- Fault Tree Analysis
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems.
- Experience with Life Support and/or Thermal Control hardware.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
