Mechanical / MEP Project Manager

The mechanical and electrical share of a Boston building keeps growing, and on labs, hospitals and data heavy space the MEP Project Manager now carries the riskiest scope on the job. BELMONT Search is a Construction and Infrastructure executive search firm.

THE ROLE

Full ownership of a trade scope: the budget, the labor plan, the equipment that decides the schedule, and the foremen who win the job in the field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Budget, labor planning, change orders and requisitions
• Long lead equipment and fabrication schedules, where the lead time is the schedule
• Coordination from BIM through installation, clashes solved before they are built
• Supporting the foremen running the work rather than working around them
• Change order negotiation with the general contractor
• Commissioning and closeout on mechanically heavy projects

QUALIFICATIONS

• You have run mechanical, electrical, plumbing or fire protection scopes
• You know why the duct riser matters before the drywall does
• A general contractor's coordination meeting does not rattle you
• Laboratory, healthcare or institutional work moves you up the list

COMPENSATION

Base of $110,000 to $160,000 depending on trade and experience, plus vehicle and bonus.
