Summary:
The Mechanical Technician I is responsible for performing equipment assembly, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities within a manufacturing environment. This role requires hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety and quality procedures to ensure maximum equipment reliability and operational efficiency. Roles & Responsibilities:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities on mechanical equipment and production systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs following established procedures.
Inspect equipment components to identify wear, damage, or operational abnormalities.
Complete maintenance documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Support equipment installations, modifications, and commissioning activities.
Follow all workplace safety standards and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Maintain tools, spare parts, and work areas in accordance with company guidelines.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to minimize equipment downtime.
Participate in root cause investigations and implement corrective actions when required.
Monitor equipment performance and recommend process improvements.
Assist with calibration and testing activities as needed.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance and reliability programs.
Requirements:
Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
High School Diploma or GED with technical maintenance experience.
Technical or vocational certifications in Mechanical Maintenance are preferred.
1 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or manufacturing operations.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatic equipment is preferred.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and safety practices.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work rotating shifts in an industrial environment.
