Description
Pay rate range - $35/hr. to $41/hr.
On-site
About role - role requires hands-on lab work (test fixture fabrication and pneumatic circuit building)
Must Have
1. SolidWorks proficiency for 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation
2. Hands-on design, build, and modification of test fixtures and rigs
3. Experience with pneumatic systems, including building pneumatic circuits
Nice to Have
1. Experience with environmental testing
2. Rapid prototyping (3D printing, machining, off-the-shelf components)
3. Engineering project/task management tools (JIRA, Asana, or similar); ability to analyze/interpret test data
Years of experience -
Mid-level (Engineer II); typically, ~3+ years of relevant hands-on mechanical/robotics test experience
Education - BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent practical experience
Successful background -
Solid mechanical engineering foundation suited to prototype-driven development; comfortable in a lab environment; demonstrated experience designing and building test fixtures; hands-on with pneumatic circuits; works independently with minimal supervision; strong communication, documentation, and data reporting skills.
Workflow-
Design and fabricate test fixtures and rigs; build pneumatic circuits; plan and execute tests on robotic subsystems; create SolidWorks 3D models and 2D drawings; document and report test data; analyze results to identify trends, failure modes, and design improvements.
Key Projects -
The team develops and validates robotic hardware in a prototype-driven, lab-based environment. Key work centers on test fixture design and fabrication, and test planning and execution for robotic subsystems (end effectors in particular).
