Job Summary
Our client, a global leader in advanced autonomous and robotic solutions across multiple industries, is seeking a Mechatronics Technician III to support the installation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems on OEM vehicle platforms.
This hands-on role works closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to integrate autonomous technology, sensors, wiring, controls, and mechanical components into vehicle platforms. The technician will support system-level troubleshooting, testing, field deployment, and ongoing development activities, working independently while collaborating across engineering and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in multiple autonomous vehicle and electro-mechanical development projects.
- Install Mobius platform kits on yard trucks in the field, including mechanical, electrical, and system integration activities.
- Install and integrate electro-mechanical components, sensors, actuators, wiring, controls, and related hardware on OEM vehicle platforms.
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to integrate hardware and software systems.
- Perform system-level troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues and assist with root-cause analysis.
- Support integration and testing of autonomous vehicle systems, including verification of sensors, wiring, controls, communications, and system interfaces.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system documentation.
- Perform electrical assembly activities including wire routing, connector installation, cable management, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Support vehicle commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting in both shop and field environments.
- Identify installation or integration issues and work with engineering teams to implement design or process improvements.
- Document installation, testing, troubleshooting, and system issues as required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas required for vehicle integration and testing.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to improvements in autonomous vehicle integration and deployment processes.
Required Qualifications- Associate degree in Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 3 5 years of hands-on experience in mechatronics, electro-mechanical systems, robotics, automation, vehicle systems, or a related technical field.
- Experience installing, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of electrical wiring, sensors, actuators, motors, connectors, and basic controls.
- Experience troubleshooting interactions between mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
- Experience with vehicle, robotics, industrial automation, or other complex electro-mechanical systems preferred.
- Basic understanding of software/system integration concepts, communications interfaces, and system diagnostics.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems systematically and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to resolve system-level issues.
- Comfortable working in both shop and field environments, including travel to customer or deployment locations as needed.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering and cross-functional development teams.
