Med/Surg - RN - Delta, CO
Location                           : Delta, CO 81416
Project Duration          : 13 weeks contract
Pay range                         : $55/hr - $60/hr
Shift                                    : Days/Nights
 
Job Summary
The Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to patients with acute and chronic medical conditions, illnesses, and postoperative needs. The RN assesses patient health, administers medications and treatments, monitors clinical progress, coordinates care with the healthcare team, and educates patients and families to promote recovery and prevent complications.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs and overall clinical status.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments according to provider orders.
• Monitor laboratory results, diagnostic findings, and patient responses to treatment.
• Provide nursing care to medical, surgical, and postoperative patients.
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter care, and management of drains and IV lines.
• Assess pain levels and implement appropriate pain-management interventions.
• Recognize signs of clinical deterioration and promptly notify physicians or initiate emergency response procedures.
• Assist with diagnostic tests, bedside procedures, and other clinical interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing assistants, therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow infection-control practices, medication-safety standards, fall-prevention protocols, and hospital policies.
• Participate in patient handoffs, discharge planning, and continuity-of-care activities.
• Respond to rapid-response situations and medical emergencies as required.

 
Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be currently licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Colorado
• Two years relevant experience preferred.
• Specialty certification for specialty areas preferred.
• BLS required upon hire
• ACLS & PALS required upon hire or within 6 months...
