Medication Technician (Med Tech)

Join our team and make a difference in the lives of seniors every day! We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Medication Technician to safely administer medications and provide quality care to residents in our Assisted Living and Memory Care community.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with state regulations and physician orders.
  • Complete medication administration records (MARs) and required documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Observe residents and report changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing leadership.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including:
    • Personal hygiene and grooming
    • Dressing and bathing
    • Mobility and transfers
    • Incontinence care
    • Dining assistance
  • Maintain security and accountability of medication carts, keys, and controlled substances.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and healthcare providers.
  • Encourage resident participation in social and recreational activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and emergency response procedures.
  • Participate in required training and team meetings.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a state-approved Medication Technician/Medication Aide certification program.
  • Ability to accurately administer medications and maintain documentation.
  • Strong communication and resident-service skills.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience as a Medication Technician, Med Aide, or Certified Medication Aide.
  • Experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long-Term Care, or Senior Living.
  • Knowledge of dementia and related cognitive conditions.
