Medication Technician (Med Tech)
Join our team and make a difference in the lives of seniors every day! We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Medication Technician to safely administer medications and provide quality care to residents in our Assisted Living and Memory Care community.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with state regulations and physician orders.
- Complete medication administration records (MARs) and required documentation promptly and accurately.
- Observe residents and report changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing leadership.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including:
- Personal hygiene and grooming
- Dressing and bathing
- Mobility and transfers
- Incontinence care
- Dining assistance
- Maintain security and accountability of medication carts, keys, and controlled substances.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and healthcare providers.
- Encourage resident participation in social and recreational activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and emergency response procedures.
- Participate in required training and team meetings.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a state-approved Medication Technician/Medication Aide certification program.
- Ability to accurately administer medications and maintain documentation.
- Strong communication and resident-service skills.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience as a Medication Technician, Med Aide, or Certified Medication Aide.
- Experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long-Term Care, or Senior Living.
- Knowledge of dementia and related cognitive conditions.
