Cross County Medical Care in Bellerose, NY is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our growing healthcare team. Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient examinations and procedures
  • eClinicalWorkx Experience a plus
  • Record patient vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints accurately in EMR/EHR systems
  • Prepare and maintain clean, stocked exam rooms between patient visits
  • Administer injections, draw blood, and perform routine diagnostic tests as directed
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage follow-up care coordination
  • Handle patient inquiries, insurance verification, and front-desk support as needed
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) preferred
  • Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient medical office setting is a plus
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR software and basic medical office procedures
  • Strong phlebotomy and vital signs skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinical environment
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred
