As a Medical Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting physicians, mid-level providers, behavioral health professionals, nurses, and support staff to ensure smooth and efficient clinical operations. Key Responsibilities:
Assist in providing direct patient care within a primary care setting, following standing orders and clinical protocols.
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, including sterilization and supply management.
Take patient histories, measure vital signs, and document findings accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
Administer injections, perform EKGs, and assist with clinical procedures as needed.
Coordinate patient schedules, follow-up appointments, and communicate instructions clearly to patients.
Support clinical team members by anticipating needs and facilitating workflow.
Ensure compliance with safety and confidentiality standards, including TB testing; can undergo TB testing on-site if needed.
Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic efficiency.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required
Bilingual in English and Spanish required
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
TB clearance
Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional late shifts and rotating Saturday shifts.
Willingness to wear scrubs (preferably solid colors), and maintain a professional appearance, including neat hair and no nail polish.
At least one year of experience or training in a healthcare setting.
Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR), particularly Allscripts.
