As a Medical Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting physicians, mid-level providers, behavioral health professionals, nurses, and support staff to ensure smooth and efficient clinical operations. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in providing direct patient care within a primary care setting, following standing orders and clinical protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, including sterilization and supply management.
  • Take patient histories, measure vital signs, and document findings accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Administer injections, perform EKGs, and assist with clinical procedures as needed.
  • Coordinate patient schedules, follow-up appointments, and communicate instructions clearly to patients.
  • Support clinical team members by anticipating needs and facilitating workflow.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and confidentiality standards, including TB testing; can undergo TB testing on-site if needed.
  • Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • TB clearance
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional late shifts and rotating Saturday shifts.
  • Willingness to wear scrubs (preferably solid colors), and maintain a professional appearance, including neat hair and no nail polish.
  • At least one year of experience or training in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR), particularly Allscripts.
