Job Purpose:

The CCMA - Lead-Trainer assists with onboarding and training in workflows and process with all Medical Assistants and Medical Health Technicians. Directs less experienced medical assistants on specific duties. Works in a team and mission-based setting to assist with direct patient care procedures and related tasks, through joint planning and problem solving, assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of Clinical Manager. Works collaboratively with the providers to determine and establish training needs for all Medical Assistants and Medical Health Technicians.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a resource and primary first contact for other MAs on workflow questions, processes, procedures and training questions.
  • Works with Clinic Manager on recommendations for improved MA workflow and efficiency.
  • Works with Clinic Manager and Chief Medical Officer to develop, test, and implement a training and certification program for all Medical Assistants (MA's) and Medical Health Technicians (MHT's) leading to ongoing competency assessment of all MA's and MHT's at an every six (6) month interval.
  • Helping with Epic updates for clinical workflows if training is required.
  • Assist MA's and MHT's with additional training if needed.
  • Adheres to the spirit of Waterfall Community Health Center to remove barriers to care and our mission statement while performing assigned duties.

  • Coordinates care for patients on warfarin, including weekly INR monitoring, provider directed dosing, follow-up appointments and anticoagulation management.
  • Works with the team to ensure appropriate pre-visit preparation including culturally and linguistically appropriate services.
  • Conduct training sessions for new hires, current staff, and specialized teams using a variety of training methods, including in-person, online, and hands-on instruction.
  • Help Clinic Manager Design and develop training programs, materials, and manuals tailored to the needs of the medical facility.
  • Update training programs regularly to reflect current best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a resource for staff questions and issues related to training and skill development.
  • Work closely with department heads and managers to identify training needs and develop appropriate programs and collaborate with other trainers and educators to share best practices and resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness and prepare reports on training activities and outcomes for management review.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on EPIC updates and changes. Responsible for updating MA's and MHT's on upcoming changes and providing training if needed.
  • Responsible for knowing and following clinical policies and procedures, including documenting all patient interactions in Epic in a manner consistent with professional standards.
  • Performs related duties necessary to ensure quality patient care as requested by supervisor, including addressing barriers when the patient has not met treatment goals.
  • Ensure all training programs meet regulatory requirements and align with the facility's policies and procedures. Required to stay current with industry standards, regulations, and advancements in medical training and provide ongoing support and guidance to staff to help them apply training in their daily work.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, feedback, and performance metrics. Make necessary adjustments to training programs based on feedback and performance data.
  • Performs any other duties needed to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization's Values.
  • Assist the medical teams with coverage and support in the event of staff shortages, while continuing to fulfill their regular scheduled duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credentials from the National HealthCare Association (NHA)
  • 2 years' experience as a CCMA, preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Must have a good understanding of EPIC
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Comprehensive training class completed within 6 months of hire and recertify prior to the expiration date. Employer provided training
  • BLS certification obtained within 6 months of hire. Employer provided training

Immunizations Required:

  • TB test (upon hire)

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting and/or standing at a desk working at a computer.
  • Repetitive use of hand motion, some reaching bending and/or lifting of up to 20 pounds
  • Exposed to sick people

Salary Description

$25.00 to $32.00 per hour
