Under general supervision of the department manager, nursing staff, and SMA/LMA, the Medical Assistant (MA) follows policies, procedures, professional guidelines, and provides clinical and clerical support such as assistance with medical procedures, cleaning of equipment, filing, retrieval of information, and performance of screening examinations.

High School Diploma or GED
Certification:
BLS
Work Experience:
3 months of healthcare experience
Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Medical Terminology
Ability to assist with routine patient care tasks such as vital signs, preparing examination rooms
Ability to effectively communicate and explain procedures and provide clear instructions
Demonstrates the ability to prepare for and assist with medical procedures.
Demonstrates the ability to perform various clerical duties essential to the operations of the practice, including but not limited to, answering phones professionally, greeting patients, filing, faxing and scanning of documents.
