Medical Assistant

Freedom House Recovery Center, is hiring an organized, friendly, ambitious Medical Assistant to work the front office at our outpatient clinic. This is a fast paced office scheduled and walk in clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks including:

Take and record vitals of clients
Provide medical care in a professional, compassionate and effective manner, and in keeping with established standards.
Collect urine screens upon request of Nurse Practioner to support the therapeutic process as needed.
Administer and dispense medication and prepare and monitor medication dosages, ensuring that each client receives the proper dosage in a timely manner.
Responsible for ordering medications
Maintain the security of medication in the storage and dosing areas, ensuring that all supplies are accounted for.
Monitor and document client medications from prescribing physicians both inside and outside of the organization.
Assist client and medical provider with prescription prior authorization documentation procedures as needed
Inspect/oversee integrity of medical area ensuring that it is clean and well-stocked on a daily basis.
Assist with administrative duties when needed
Attend in-services, staff meetings, and other staff functions as required by Supervisor.
Ability to function as a team member
Pursue staff development opportunities to meet privileging and credentialing requirements, expand skills, and keep license or certifications current (if applicable).
Maintain a schedule approved by Supervisor.
Is reliable in work attendance and follows Freedom House procedures when requesting planned or unplanned leave.
