IWS Family Health, a community health center providing preventive health care services to children and families, is looking for a Medical Assistant to help grow our practice as we add a third location in 2026.  This position will support our medical providers by providing direct patient care and managing patient work flow.

What you will do:
  • Room patients and prepare them for visits, including measuring and accurately recording vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.).
  • Conduct patient interviews to gather chief complaint, medical history, and current medications, and document findings accurately in the medical record.
  • Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and procedures, anticipating needs and ensuring efficient patient flow through the visit.
  • Administer vaccines and other injections per provider order, and perform point-of-care/CLIA-waived laboratory testing (e.g., rapid strep, glucose, urinalysis).
  • Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, including labeling and processing per protocol.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and equipment between patients in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Stock, organize, and prepare exam and treatment rooms before and throughout the clinic day.
  • Monitor and inventory medical and clinical supplies, placing orders as needed to maintain adequate stock.
  • Perform basic wound care, dressing changes, and other clinical tasks as directed by the provider.

What you will bring:

At a minimum:
  • High school diploma
  • Six month experience in a clinical setting
  • Excellent communication skills including knowledge of medical terminology
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office
  • Experience using electronic medical records
  • Strong communication skills including effective documentation and verification of orders
  • Strong customer service skills including effective bedside manner

We are hoping for:  
  • Language skills would be a great benefit to our patients.  Spanish and Polish are the most common 
  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • Phlebotomy Certification
 
Compensation and Benefits:

The rate for this position is $21.00 - $22.00 depending on experience.  IWS Family Health provides a competitive salary and benefits plan, including generous Paid Time Off (PTO), paid holidays, health, dental, life, disability and vision insurance options, a medical expense reimbursement plan, and a 403(b) option.
