As part of our St. Johnsbury Pediatrics team, youll play an important role in supporting patient care and creating a positive experience for every child and family we serve. About This Role As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in St. Johnsbury Pediatrics, you will provide direct patient care and clinical support under the supervision of physicians and advanced practice providers. This role combines hands-on patient care, care coordination, patient communication, and administrative responsibilities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care for pediatric patients. Key Responsibilities Welcome patients and families, support patient flow, obtain health histories, vital signs, screenings, and accurately document information in the electronic health record (EHR). Assist providers with clinical procedures, injections, point-of-care testing, dressing changes, EKGs, specimen collection, and other delegated patient care activities. Support patient communication by answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing prescription refill requests, and communicating provider instructions to patients and families. Maintain patient records, manage EHR tasks and orders, stock supplies, prepare exam rooms, and ensure compliance with safety, confidentiality, and HIPAA requirements. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Current active CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification required. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required. Minimum of one year of hospital or medical office experience preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Preferred Skills Experience using electronic health records and computer systems. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain calm in fast-paced environments. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and staff. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
