SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Penn State Health Medical Group - Contingency Pool is seeking a determined and experienced Medical Assistant to join the travel pool team. Spanning over a variety of counties in the South-Central PA area, including Dauphin, Cumberland, Lancaster, York, and Berks counties, the MA will be expected to float to different Academic Practice Division (APD) Medical Group offices for daily/weekly work assignments. The APD-based offices range from General Primary Care to single or multi-specialty offices, so no two days are alike.
The Medical Assistant of the Contingency Pool will be expected to perform the following duties throughout their designated assignments:
• Room patients • Conduct Point-of-Care Testing • Perform phlebotomy and injections • Administer medications • Complete asynchronous administrative work
The ideal MA for this position will be able to work within a team environment and independently. With each assignment, it will be expected that the Medical Assistant will meet not only the Contingency Pools expectations but also those of the assigned office. It is important to be punctual and promptly report to all assignments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90-days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
Previous outpatient experience preferred
