Medical Assistant - Electrophysiology

Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawaii. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region's only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawaii, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

At Straub Clinic & Hospital, our cardiologists offer a full range of services in adult cardiology and a pediatric cardiology program with our affiliate facilities on O'ahu. Our services include non-invasive and minimally-invasive diagnostic evaluation using procedures such as angiograms, echocardiograms, Holter monitoring, exercise tolerance testing, thallium stress testing and electrophysiology testing. The Straub Heart Center has been designated a Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care by HMSA for its excellence.

As a Medical Assistant, you will join the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide our signature compassionate health services to patients and their families. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities in our Electrophysiology department. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and attentive, with strong communications and patient care skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai'i's people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), OR Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE)from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologist (AMT), OR Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency testing (NCCT), OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Registry of Medical Assistants, OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) from National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), OR Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) from the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card. Must Be able to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period.

Preferred Experience: Six (6) months medical assistant experience. Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology (CPT) and/or International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) coding. Experience with electronic medical records.
