About the Role:Cross County Medical Care in Elmont, NY is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our growing healthcare team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in patients' lives while building your career in a supportive clinical environment.
Responsibilities:- Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient examinations and procedures
- eClinicalWorks Expeirence a plus
- Record patient vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints accurately in EHR systems
- Prepare and maintain clean, stocked exam rooms between patient visits
- Administer injections, draw blood, and perform basic diagnostic tests as directed
- Schedule patient appointments and manage follow-up care coordination
- Handle prescription refill requests and prior authorizations under provider supervision
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
Requirements:- High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) preferred
- Prior clinical or medical office experience is a plus
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) software
- Strong phlebotomy and vital signs skills
- Excellent communication and patient-facing interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced outpatient setting
