Make a Difference in Student Health at UAF
Join the Student Health and Counseling Center as a Medical Assistant and play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of UAF students. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse, multicultural student population while gaining valuable experience across a wide range of clinical responsibilities.
Medical Assistants report to the Associate Director of Medical Services and work alongside compassionate medical and mental health professionals in a welcoming, collaborative, and growing practice. This position is currently available, with full-time and part-time opportunities offered on 9-, 10.5-, or 12-month contracts, providing flexibility to support a healthy work-life balance.
To thrive in this role, you'll bring a strong foundation in medical assisting, clinical experience, adaptability, and a commitment to providing inclusive, student-centered care. Comfort with telemedicine, a collaborative approach, and enthusiasm for professional growth will help you succeed as part of a team dedicated to the health and well-being of UAF students.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from a certified medical assistant program and two years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Associate's degree and medical assistant certification is preferred
Position Details:
This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
