Description
This position is responsible for providing excellent patient care and experience in accordance with Mountain Park Health Center's guiding principles, HIPAA, and any other applicable federal & state laws. The floating Medical Assistant (MA) will be responsible for having familiarity with all practice areas that we provide service in.
Essential Functions:
Performs and completes clinical and non-clinical assigned duties, tasks, responsibilities, and assignments in the front and back office.
Adheres to and follows procedures for immunization and medication administration, including but limited to labeling, storing, and utilization.
Performs and adheres to all Clinical Laboratory of Improvement Amendments (CLIA) testing instructions; collects specimens, processes and documents results in the electronic health records (EHR).
Fulfills provider orders within scope of practice and provides patients' discharge instructions.
Assists with coordinating the continuity of patient care with internal health departments.
Maintains proper levels of supplies in exam rooms and prepares exam room for patient care and procedures.
Identifies and reports any safety hazard, or potential hazard, by directly notifying supervisory staff immediately of concerns.
Interviews patients to obtain reasons for visit, history, and chief complaints; performs vital signs and other patient care needs.
Utilizes and abides by proper charting and documenting procedures for all patient related services, exams, interactions, and assignments performed.
Travels to multiple locations as assigned which may include a location change during shift.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Performs other duties as required.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have reliable transportation in order to commute to various facilities, as required, and remain on the Approved Driver's List.
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
Graduate of a medical assistant program
Current CPR Certification
Must have a valid driver's license.
Completion of the MA Preceptor program or Champion User requirements as needed for assignment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Electronic Health Record experience
Registered medical assistant (RMA) or certified medical assistant (CMA) credential.
At least one year of previous medical back-office experience
