Description

An ambulatory care center in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide patient-facing support in a float role across two nearby clinical sites. This position focuses on patient flow, rooming, clinical support, documentation, and coordination within a busy surgical care setting.

About the Opportunity:

  • Shift: Day shift
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Setting: Ambulatory Care Center (floating)

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate patient flow, rooming, and arrival management to support efficient clinic operations.
  • Escort patients, prepare them for examinations, and assist providers during visits and procedures as needed.
  • Take and document vital signs, perform point-of-care testing, and complete clinical intake documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Support pre-visit planning, patient reminders, referral coordination, and follow-up communication with patients and care teams.
  • Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies while following infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant.
  • CPR certification.
  • EKG and phlebotomy training.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a hospital or doctor's office setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal, and multitasking skills.
  • Computer literacy and ability to complete data entry accurately.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in a surgical or ambulatory care setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records.
  • Additional language skills.
