Job Description


We are seeking two full-time Medical Assistants/Gap Year Clinical Assistants, averaging approximately 30–35 hours per week, to join our growing team.


This is a hands-on clinical position supporting our physicians and patients throughout the day. Responsibilities include assisting with food and medication challenges, allergy testing, immunotherapy, patient intake, clinical procedures, documentation, and maintaining an organized and efficient patient flow.


Clinic Hours


  • Monday & Thursday: 8:00 a.m.–4:00/4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday & Wednesday: 8:00 a.m.–6:00/6:30 p.m.
  • Occasional Fridays with ample advance coordination by management 
  • Position averages approximately 30–35 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities


  • Assist with food and medication challenges and food allergy procedures.
  • Closely monitor patients for allergic reactions and promptly communicate changes to the clinical team.
  • Complete patient intake, including obtaining medical histories, vital signs, medication information, and documenting accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Prepare for and assist with allergy skin testing and pulmonary function testing under physician supervision.
  • Administer allergy immunotherapy injections after appropriate training and competency assessment.
  • Assist physicians with office-based allergy and immunology procedures.
  • Prepare patients, rooms, supplies, and equipment for scheduled procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and organized patient records.
  • Provide patients with clear instructions and education as directed by the clinical team.
  • Assist with patient communication, scheduling, and other administrative responsibilities as needed.
  • Maintain exam and procedure rooms and ensure appropriate medical supplies and inventory are available.
  • Follow clinic policies, infection-control procedures, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, medical assistants, and administrative team members to maintain an efficient and organized clinical environment.
Qualifications


  • Medical assistant experience or education in a healthcare-related field is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
  • Candidates completing a gap year before medical school, physician assistant school, nursing school, or another healthcare professional program are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to learn and consistently follow established clinical workflows and protocols.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work efficiently in a busy clinical environment.
  • Comfortable working directly with patients, including children and adults.
  • Strong computer skills and comfort working within an electronic health record.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus.
  • Dependable, professional, collaborative, and willing to learn.
