Dean's Professional Services is seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Medical Assistant II to support a leading healthcare organization in Austin, TX. This role is ideal for an experienced medical assistant who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
Welcome patients, families, and visitors with professionalism while delivering exceptional customer service.
Support daily clinic operations and assist with patient flow to ensure efficient, high-quality care.
Communicate appointment updates, wait times, and clinic processes to patients and providers.
Assist with flu vaccination clinics and outreach events, including early morning event setup when required.
Monitor patient wait times and communicate delays or workflow concerns to clinic leadership.
Coordinate translation services for patients when needed.
Collaborate with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to maintain efficient clinic operations.
Maintain accurate patient documentation and assist with appointment scheduling as needed.
Participate in staff meetings, mandatory training, and quality improvement initiatives.
Notify supervisors or licensed staff when assistance is needed to complete assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2 years of related Medical Assistant experience required.
Pediatrics Required
Current certification or registration as one of the following:
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
EMT, Advanced EMT, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, or Licensed Paramedic (Texas)
Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care procedures, appointment scheduling, and managed care practices.
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard computer applications.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
