Medical Assistant II (Certified/Registered)
How will you make an impact & Requirements
Conduct comprehensive patient intakes, including vital signs, medical histories, medications, and allergies.
Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, wound care, and diagnostic testing.
Perform EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection per competency standards.
Prepare, label, and process laboratory samples and point‑of‑care tests.
Maintain infection control, safety protocols, and equipment calibration.
Support patient triage, care coordination, and transitions across clinical settings.
Provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, chronic conditions, and preventive care.
Document clinical data, provider instructions, and patient updates in the EHR.
Schedule and confirm appointments, referrals, authorizations, and diagnostic tests.
Verify insurance coverage and assist with prior authorizations, billing, and coding.
Maintain inventory and prepare exam/procedure rooms with required supplies.
Participate in performance improvement initiatives, audits, and safety drills.
Facilitate communication among patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
Uphold HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and compliance standards.
Provide compassionate, culturally competent care to diverse patient populations.
Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3+ years of experience as a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant.
Active CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification required.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
BLS certification required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Familiarity with EHR systems.
Skilled in obtaining/documenting vital signs and performing EKGs.
Knowledge of infection control, universal precautions, and sterile technique.
Competent in assisting with minor procedures and clinical room setup.
Strong medical terminology, documentation accuracy, and scheduling skills.
Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and alignment with organizational values.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
