Gastro Health is seeking a Full-Time Lead Medical Assistant to join our team!

You will assist with patient care, perform administrative tasks, and contribute to a positive patient experience. Duties you will be responsible for:

  • Assist in the creation of MA schedules
  • Assist in ensuring all physicians are kept on schedule and the flow is running smoothly at all times
  • Assist in coordinating patients that are late or walk-ins with available providers
  • Support in orienting new team members so they can grasp the office dynamics and understand their roles effectively.
  • Greet the patient introduce yourself, escort patient to assigned exam room
  • Triage patient, take vitals, chief complaint, past and present history in to Electronic Medical Records system
  • Enter all current medications and prescription enter data to EMR system
  • Know how to perform all Meaningful Use requirements that pertain to the MA Department
  • Check for open orders or missing test results
  • Assist physician with in-office procedure(s)
  • Disinfect instruments using proper disinfecting techniques
  • Ensure all work areas and exam rooms are neat and clean
  • Replenish exam room with medical supplies.
  • Support Care Coordinator when necessary
  • Draw blood and utilize laboratory information system
  • Know laboratory terminology and how to handle lab discrepancies and issues
  • Meet with lab reps. and implement any new study techniques involving the lab or MA team
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • MA Certification
  • 3 years' experience as a Medical Assistant required
  • Medical terminology knowledge required
  • Bilingual preferred
