Medical Assistant (MA) - OB/GYN

A healthcare system in New York City is seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) to support an OB/GYN practice in a fast-paced clinical setting in Brooklyn.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day shift

• Schedule: Monday through Friday

• Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

• Setting: Ambulatory care center

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients, coordinate patient flow, and help maintain efficient room utilization throughout the day

• Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures

• Perform clinical support tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and documentation in the electronic medical record

• Assist providers during procedures, prepare equipment and supplies, and support specimen handling and patient safety

• Support administrative and clerical functions including phone coverage, scheduling, referrals, chart prep, and room stocking

Qualifications:

• 6+ months of related work experience

• High School Diploma / GED

• Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA)

• CPR certification

• Phlebotomy experience

• EKG training

Desired Skills:

• 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in a Hospital and/or Physician Office setting

• Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree

• Bilingual

• General Gynecology, Gynecology Specialty, or Urology experience

• Hysteroscopy experience

• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and patient registration

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
