Medical Assistant - SRS Primary Care - Rancho Bernardo - Full-Time - Day Shift SHARP HEALTHCARE

We are seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support healthcare providers in a clinical setting. This role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities, with a focus on assisting Behavioral Health providers with patient examinations, treatments, and special procedures within the established scope of practice.
The Medical Assistant may support multiple Behavioral Health specialties, including Psychiatry, Therapy, and Substance Use Disorder/Addiction Medicine.
Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, treatments, and clinical procedures as directed.
Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
Support providers during routine and specialized procedures within the Medical Assistant's scope of practice.
Obtain and document relevant patient information accurately.
Greet patients and provide a professional and welcoming experience.
Answer telephone calls and assist patients with general questions regarding services and procedures.
Provide information about Behavioral Health services and clinic procedures.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Follow established clinical, safety, privacy, and organizational policies and procedures.
Assist with administrative and clinical tasks to support efficient clinic operations.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and other members of the care team.
Provide support across various Behavioral Health specialties as needed.
High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of a Medical Assistant training program that meets applicable state requirements.
Completion of the required externship associated with an accredited Medical Assisting program.
Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant preferred/required.
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR certification or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification from the American Heart Association.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required.
Strong patient-service and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with healthcare providers and multidisciplinary teams.
Attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately.
Comfortable working in a Behavioral Health clinical environment.
Ability to manage both administrative and clinical responsibilities.

Assignment: Approximately 6 months
This is a clinic-based position supporting Behavioral Health services. The Medical Assistant will interact directly with patients, healthcare providers, and other clinical staff while performing duties within the established scope of practice.
