MEDICAL ASSISTANT or LPN/GASTRO - FT, M-Th (10-7) & F (8-5)

Toledo Clinic's Gastroenterology Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant or LPN to perform both administrative and clinical duties. This position will work Monday - Thursday (10:00am- 7:00pm) and Friday (8:00-5:00). Qualified candidates will have an active MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA) or eligible to obtain such credential within 60 days of employment or an active OH LPN license.

Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

General Summary

Assist providers with patient treatment, prepares patient for providers, and performs various clerical duties.

Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.
• Assist providers with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
• Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
• Escorting patients to exam room.
• Preparing exam rooms.
• Preparing patient for providers (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
• Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
• At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
• Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
• Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.
• Administering injections.

Education:

• Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school or LPN.

Preferred:

• Clinical experience in a medical office.
