Description

We are seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to join our new state-of-the-art pain management practice. We are located in the heart of Pasadena, at the Huntington Medical Pavilion. The ideal candidate is professional, exhibits excellent communication skills, and has the desire to grow with us. Our goal is to cultivate a safe, secure, and healthy environment for both patients and staff. 


OBJECTIVE OF THIS ROLE:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for patient care and related tasks. We are seeking a motivated individual, willing to learn and expand as the practice grows. Commitment to continued patient centered care while maintaining accurate, secure electronic patient medical records. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  •  Front and back-office duties. Assists with phone calls and messages. 
  • Processing prior authorizations and insurance verification. 
  • Delivering direct patient care using established procedures. 
  • Documenting history; recording and reporting pertinent observations, documenting lab values, scanning and uploading medical records. Ensure follow up on results
  • Verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to assist with training new staff.  
  • Assist with emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment.
  • Ability to set up and assist physicians with procedures. 
  • Ability to order medical supplies and maintain adequate inventory. 
  • Ability to schedule patient appointments using the Electronic Health Record system. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) 

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent 
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with C-Arm(X-Ray) preferred but not required.
  • Requires at least 1-2 years of medical assistant experience.
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to exercise a degree of initiative and judgment. 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. 
  • Proficiency in the operation of an EMR 
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and preventative measures (HIPAA, CAL-OSHA) confidentiality, 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Monday through Friday 
  • 8 AM to 5 PM 
  • One hour lunch break between 12-1
