Description
This is a benefited, full-time position that generally works Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch. The schedule also includes 1 Saturday every 4 to 6 months to cover the Pediatric Clinic. This position primarily supports the Pediatric Department in Oceanside at the Jefferson Clinic, while maintaining flexibility to provide coverage within Internal Medicine as operational needs require.

In this role you will assist the department clinically as a Medical Assistant and support the team with front office responsibilities such as answering phones, scheduling, and call backs when needed. Clinically, you will support our providers by checking patient vitals, rooming patients, stocking patient rooms, assisting with procedures and providing patient education as needed.
The MA maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment, and organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice. This includes the following:
assisting in preparing patients for examination/procedures
assisting physicians with procedures
relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
collecting patient data in person and by phone and documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician''s review
administering medications specifically directed by the physician
performing vital sign documentation
scheduling of appointments and procedures
complete and accurate message taking
routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
order and referral entry
acquisition of pre-certifications and setting up of cases in EPIC
basic registration and updating of demographics
floating within Internal Medicine as operational needs require
