POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the health care team, the Medical Assistant Phlebotomist functions as a multi skilled health care professional in an ambulatory setting primarily focusing on blood draws and lab work. Working as a part of the nursing team, a successful incumbent will rely on teamwork and collaboration on multiple levels to provide excellent patient care. Supporting patients by observing NVIH Core Values is essential to incumbents successfully completing these responsibilities. Duties will include floating to other sites as needed for support. Work is performed under the clinical supervision of the RN Clinic Coordinator. Operates within the scope of the Medical Assistant under the Medical Board of California and phlebotomy training under the CHDP of California and maintains standards consistent with the level of care set by Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations.
