We are actively seeking a Medical Assistant for our out-patient Family Medicine Clinic in Corpus Christi, Texas. This clinic proudly cares for an all-adult patient population, which includes healthcare workers and their dependents. Full-time opportunity, with over-time: Mon, Wed & Fri from 7:30am-5:00pm and Tues/Thurs from 8:30am-6:00pm. No weekends, no 12-hour shifts and no major holidays! This role involves both front and back office duties (clinical and administrative tasks) and performing lab draws as needed. Prior phlebotomy experience is required! Ideal individual will support efficient clinic workflow, provide excellent customer service and be skilled in patient interaction, be detail-oriented and organized. BLS is required (we can provide if needed).

What You'll Do:
- Perform phlebotomy and other lab tests
- Coordinate with patients regarding follow-up test results, medication refills, and referrals.
- Assist charge nurse and nurses as needed to maintain a functional clinic.
- Schedule patient appointments, answer phones, and schedule referrals.
- Checks medical records for test results and assigns and faxes as appropriate.
- Scan documents as necessary.
- Keep equipment and instruments clean and sterilized.
- Report to RN and MD when needed.
Education & Experience:
- One year certificate (CMA or CNA) from college or accredited technical school
- Six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPR / BLS
- Prior Phlebotomy experience required
Required Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively to patients.
- A working knowledge of medical terms and a good knowledge of the English language and grammar rules.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems and take direction.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Attendance is an essential job function.
