Medical Assistant

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant
Location: San Jose, CA 95125
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: M-F | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 40 Hours/Week

Must-Have Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience working with geriatric, frail, elderly, or senior populations.
• Skilled in:
  • Patient preparation and rooming
  • Vital signs measurement
  • Medical assisting procedures
  • Specimen collection
  • Triage
  • Documentation in EMR/EHR systems
• Experience with:
  • Sterilization procedures
  • Exam room setup and stocking
  • Quality control checks
  • Clinic log maintenance
  • Emergency cart monitoring
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• BLS Certification required.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Certification Requirements

Candidate must meet one of the following:

Option 1:

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP, ABHES, BPPE, CDE, or US Department of Education approved).

Option 2:

• Graduate of a non-accredited MA program plus one of the following certifications:
  • CMA (AAMA)
  • CCMA (NHA)
  • NCMA (NCCT)
  • RMA (AMT)
  • NRCMA
  • California Certified Medical Assistant (CCBMA)
  • Equivalent recognized MA certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Home Health experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Experience supporting specialty care providers
• Athena EMR experience

Daily Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for appointments and examinations.
• Record vital signs and medical histories.
• Assist physicians during examinations.
• Perform dressing changes, suture removal, and specimen collection.
• Maintain exam rooms, clinic logs, emergency carts, and equipment.
• Support specialist clinics and coordinate schedules.
• Conduct COVID testing as needed.
• Document care and procedures in EMR.
