Position Details
- Position: Medical Assistant
- Location: Santa Monica, CA
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Shift: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
- Current BLS Certification
- Current CMA Certification (AAMA, AMT, AMCA, NCCT, or NHA)
- Experience with any EMR system required
Job Responsibilities
- Room patients and prepare them for provider visits.
- Obtain and document vital signs and patient assessments.
- Record patient history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
- Assist providers during examinations and clinical procedures.
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection.
- Label and process laboratory specimens accurately.
- Conduct blood glucose testing using glucometers.
- Collect urine specimens and provide clean-catch instructions.
- Administer immunizations and TB tests as ordered.
- Assist with nebulizer treatments when required.
- Perform hearing and vision screening tests.
- Remove sutures according to provider instructions.
- Complete follow-up phone calls and patient communications.
- Assist with pharmacy refill requests and telephone triage.
- Maintain clinical supplies and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked.
- Follow infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
