What You'll DoAs a Medical Assistant, you'll provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare professionals while helping ensure quality, compassionate patient care.
- Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, and check in patientsÂ
- Obtain patient information and ensure forms and consents are completedÂ
- Record medical histories, vital signs, test results, and other clinical informationÂ
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms, equipment, and instrumentsÂ
- Maintain medical supply inventory and stock exam rooms appropriatelyÂ
- Prepare, order, and administer medications under physician direction and supervisionÂ
- Assist practitioners with medical procedures and other patient careÂ
- Assist with pre- and post-procedure patient transfersÂ
- Provide compassionate support and assistance to patients and familiesÂ
- Schedule and reschedule appointments, including proactive waitlist and schedule optimizationÂ
- Schedule follow-up appointments at checkout and document reasons when appointments cannot be scheduledÂ
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare regulations and complete required trainingÂ
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED requiredÂ
- At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare settingÂ
- Medical Assistant certification may be requiredÂ
- Knowledge of medical terminology, spelling, and office ethicsÂ
- Understanding of patient confidentiality requirementsÂ
- Basic knowledge of clerical procedures, recordkeeping, and filingÂ
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareÂ
