Medical Assistant

Willis Knighton Health System is seeking a Medical AssistantwithCardiology experience. The MA will provide nursing care to patients in the physician offices under the supervision of the clinic physician. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Perform EKGs, vital signs, including manual blood pressures; assess the health status of patients; collaborate with the physician and nursing staffto establish care procedures; contribute to the planning of appropriate nursing interventions; assist patients with activities of daily living; document patient assessment; communicate pertinent information regarding patient condition to other members of the health care team; and provide information to patient/family regarding disease process or diagnostic procedures. A Louisiana MA license is a requirement for this position and previouscardiac experienceis preferred. The applicant selected for this position will be required to attend ahospital-wide orientation as well as a department orientation upon hire. Some travel to satellite clinics is required.
